No Formal School for Financial Education: Get yourself Informed

Have you ever wondered why financial education is not included in our educational curriculum? This is probably because there is no guideline or mandate to include it. One can only imagine that, the most important and needed curriculum by almost if not everyone, will be omitted from the educational

curriculum for centuries despite increased literacy in other aspects of education.

I would like to let you know that, the main type of knowledge that is deserved by anyone, is to know how money works in terms of earnings, savings, and investments. It is not about how much money is made/earned but how much money is saved appropriately as not all types of savings are beneficial after all and on a long-term basis.

Having said that, how can one acquire this education? First of all, do your due diligence by reading and understanding recommended books by your financial coach or educator or professional. Per my personal experience as a financial professional, I would recommend a great book that has educated me on finances and retirement ‘The Retirement Miracle’. This book is very informative and provides insight into great financial information that is helpful not just for retirement planning but also financial planning.

I am recommending this book based on my opinion and knowledge that I have acquired from this book and not necessarily an endorsement of the author of this book.

I truly hope there will be the push to include financial literacy as a requirement in high school educational curriculum to enable teens and young adults to be appropriately informed about finances be able to make informed decisions as they pursue their careers to make money; by spending wisely and saving in appropriate accounts that would grow steadily and consistently without the potential of principal and gains losses due to market fluctuations.

I hope that you find this helpful.
